Breastfeeding

I accidentally had a coffee with normal milk this morning and breastfeeding a CMPA baby.. I will substitute the next feeds with previously pumped milk but how long would this be a problem for?! Very annoying as I have been so strict!

Dairy takes upto 2 weeks to leave our systems😩

It depends. Sometimes babies can react with the little bit and like above said it could be two weeks. For my daughter if I had dairy or if she accidentally had some it would just be the next day or two of symptoms. So I think it depends maybe mix non dairy milk with new pumped milk so it’s not all dairy but you don’t have to not breastfeed or pump

New studies show it can take a little as half an hour for dairy to get out of your system. The weeks part is the gut healing from the inflammation, not because they are still being exposed. You don’t even have to substitute with previously pumped milk, but of course you can if you have some to hand!

@Rebecca oo that’s awesome to hear!

@Rebecca omg this sounds much more positive! Thank you x

@Gabrielle it is! It does vary from person to person but yeah much more positive than previous estimates!

Incog you're welcome! I was very relieved to learn that after I had an accidental exposure x
