Milk Allergy

Anyone have a baby with a milk allergy? How long did it take for them to become less fussy after removing dairy from your diet? Did you completely remove dairy, or reduce?

Literally just found out last week my baby has a protein intolerance to my milk. Switched to alimentum and that same day there was a change

My first son did I completely cut out dairy and he was so much better. He was almost completely better within days.

My baby has a dairy and soy allergy. My pediatrician said it can take up to 7-10 days for it to be fully out of breast milk However, I noticed that the bloody, mucus stools stopped after 4 days and her baby acne cleared up within 6-7days When I accidentally ate soy (sneakily ingredient), her symptoms came back within hours and didn’t fully go away for 6-7 days .

Adding: I completely removed both from my diet because even having it once of accidental exposure triggers her symptoms. It sucks but it’s worth it!

This is my second baby and they e both had milk allergies. I have completely removed dairy both times and it made a world of difference. I had nothing against switching to formula but it’s so expensive lol

I’m having the same problem my son is gassy a lot. I just found out about milk being able to go through the Brest milk and also his doctor told me caffeine can also go through breastmilk like coffee so I’ve cut back on that. I am seeing a little change only because I just stopped with all dairy stuff.

@Raegan that’s good to hear, my pediatrician said 3 weeks and I’d love more of an immediate reaction. How long did he have the allergy? She said they can grow out of it around 9 months.

@Julie Oh wow soy too, how did you determine that allergy?

@Britt Same I have nothing against formula, my son used formula from 6 months on because my supply dried up. I’m just trying to make it work this time and I already have 350 oz frozen, I do not want to waste it!

@Desiray Good to know you are already seeing a change. I hate to think I’m making my baby uncomfortable.

@Kayla Good to know I can give her immediate relief if I want to stop breastfeeding and just eat dairy. I love cheese!

@Kelsey with my first I had about 300 oz saved in my freezer that we couldn’t use and I ended up donating it! You could always see if it bothers his skin and if it doesn’t then use it in baths!
