Nap and night time sleep

My April toddler is going to bed later and waking up earlier I already cut her nap does this mean I have to cut more? Or is it just a coincidence as mornings becoming lighter thanks

No advice but we’re going through the same thing atm. Not sure if it’s a regression as last night she was up from 3-5 aswell 🤦🏻‍♀️ we’re in abit of a circle atm though because she’s not getting enough night sleep she’s having 2/3 hour naps which is obviously affecting her night sleep aswell 😂

Can you share your timings?

@Sophie so atm she’s usually waking 7-8am, naps 12/1ish-2/3ish and then in bed for 8/9ish. It’s not always like this like tonight she’s still awake currently as she woke up last night I’m wanting to test if she needs a later bedtime! But that’s rough timings x

going through the same thing! cutting out naps seems to not work for us as he seems to get overtired quickly, then refuses to sleep!

ATM it’s about 830-615 so not even ten hours and I wake about 1.5 in nap and the same happened for us when she only did half an hour nap

You have to be really consistent with timings to see a difference. So if you make a change, you need to stick to it for a couple of weeks really to see an impact. Sleep needs can vary between 11&14 hrs at this age. My son has relatively low sleep needs so he sleeps 8:30-7 with a 1 hr nap at 12pm. Try and keep the nap early to build enough sleep pressure before bed, so I'd say waking at 3 from a nap is too late. If my son skips his nap at nursery, he does to bed an hour earlier. I wake him religiously everyday at 7 to keep our routine but that's personal preference. X

Thanks @Sophie I hadn’t realised you have to try for a while to see if nap makes a different

My little boy started waking up at 5am again after a period of blissful calmness and wakings at 6.30am 🫠 We have the same ritual and same bedtime every single day, nothing has changed. He is definitely more fuzzy than usual, wakes up during the night and he is not as happy as before. My guess is a development leap along with sleep regression. I can't control his naps, but he usually sleeps around 1 hour, goes to bed at 7.30pm and wakes up at 5am. I hope it gets better soon 🤞🏻
