If you count it as her first nap you are reinforcing the early wake, which is fine if you want her up at that time but if not, treat it as night sleep.
When my son wakes before 7.30 i treat it as he’s up for the day because it’s hard to get back to sleep but I give him an extra nap that day so he goes to bed later which has worked as he was waking for the day day around 5.30 6 so I gave him an extra nap at 5pm for and hour and a half and he went to bed at 9 since then he’s been waking up at 8 8.30 so back to 3 naps a day not 4 seems to have got him back ok track he now goes to bed at 8 x
Until I move the baby and we leave the bed, I count it as night time sleep 🙌🏼 When she is still happy being in the bed, it is part of the night sleep. She is up for the day once she starts complaining and wants to be picked up.
How long did she sleep for when she went back to sleep?
@Elle 1hr 15! So probably a nap... I would've gone back to bed myself had I known she'd sleep til 8:30 😴
@Tanya yeah I absolutely don't want it to be her first nap, I want her to sleep til at least 7am 😴
My baby sometimes wakes around 6, has a quick bottle. I then put him straight back in the cot (wide awake) and after 5 mins of babbling himself he goes back to sleep for a couple of hours. He usually sleeps through 8-8 but ocasionnaly that happens
@Elle does your little one cry when he wakes at 6? Or just chats and you feed him anyway? My girl was up at 5:50 this morning, she just chats to herself like it's time to get up 😴
He does sort of little cries every minute or so or like almost cry / wail chats and I can’t sleep through the noise so I just get up and give him a bottle . Cos I know he’ll go back to sleep nice and quiet if I do that 😅
Clocks go forward soon so hopefully her early morning wakes will be an hour later 🤞🏽
I’m not sure what the “right” answer is 😂 But my little girl wakes at 6 and we get her up for the day - but she does go to bed at 18:30. She has her first nap between 7:30-8:00 depending on how she feels. She does have relatively short wake windows throughout the day and rarely stays awake longer than 2 hours at a time 🤷🏻♀️ I should add she only naps for 40 mins to an hour at a time! Never ever naps longer!
