I could of wrote this avout my own daughter we keep getting up between 5am and 6am absolutely exhausted and she used to nap 2 to 3 hours too she's foul and so over tired. I am afraid I don't have any advice but your not alone. She is best when she goes down between 630 and 7pm as she never sleeps late no mater what time she goes to bed
Have you tried "quiet time"? When my daughter dropped her nap we introduced it so we still got a break 😂 we take her to her room set up for sleep but tell her she doesn't have to, leave her with books and Tonie Box etc and sometimes she will nap if she's tired. We also have a gro-clock set to change colour at 7:30am so she knows she's not allowed out of her room til then but she can read/play with tonies until that time then she's allowed to come to our room. She goes to bed 7:30pm gets up 7:30am but sometimes she's reading etc at bedtime for a while or a little in the morning before we get her up.
@Tanya he has a gro clock but ignores it 😂. I’d love to but he shares a room with his sister so I can’t really do that as he will wake her xx
@Emma thank you hope it gets better for you soon xx
@Emily I’m defo going to try an earlier bedtime xx
Honestly he woke up at 5:30 this morning and it’s 9 and I’ve have to put him down for another sleep( I know timings aren’t ideal )but I’m out all day and just don’t want him whinging all day I’ve really had enough 😩😩😩 it’s so frustrating as the tiredness is completely changing his behaviour xx
Could you try letting him do "quiet time" in your room? I know he shares a room with his sister at night but sometimes my 3 year old will want to do quiet time in our room in our bed and then she's much more eager to do it, and often conks out. Do you have blackout blinds/curtains & white noise playing all night? Clocks go forward soon so at least his morning wake-up might be an hour later so that might help stretch the night out for him again.
@Tanya that’s a good idea didn’t think about it in our room thank you. No he doesn’t have blackout blinds but I do have blackout suction things I could stick up again I’ll give anything a go at this point 😂 his little sister sleeps like a dream xx
I’m in a really similar position re naps. I feel like he needs them but doesn’t often have them now, but still needs the extra sleep. Have you tried an earlier bedtime? We did 6:30 bedtime last night as he was so overtired from nursery and woke up at 6:20 this morning
