Swaddle to Sleep Sack

Has anyone swapped their child from a swaddle to a sleep sack? My 9 week old only does long stretches of sleep if he is swaddled but I want to try and slowly transition him over rather than go cold turkey but he wakes himself up by hitting himself in the face with his flailing arms 😂 If you have successfully done it, any top tips? 🤞🏻 Thanks!!

I did it with my first. We use the tommee tippee swaddle bags and had one arm out with the other one swaddled for a week then took the other one out - planning on doing the same with my second xx

Ive brought the transitional love to dream swaddle as she needed the next size up but im nervous to try as she isnt always the best at sleeping but exactly like you i want to do it earlier rather then having to just swap with no transition. The last few nights she hasn’t been great at sleeping so im wondering to just try an arm out tonight. They say to start either with naps but my little girl doesnt use it for naps or you can wait until theyre in a deep sleep and unzip an arm even if its just half a night x

I've just tried with mine, and he was absolutely fine! I thought he preferred being swaddled but he doesn't seem to mind either way it seems x

Yes but my boy wanted to be unswaddled straight off the bat so not much help! He used to break free anyway, and loves his arms straight out at the sides. He’s been in a sleep bag for like 3 weeks now

Our boy would wriggle himself out a swaddle, no matter what we done we'd wake up and his hands were out🤣 we are using sleep sack and the flailing arms are in full force but he does eventually go to bed😅 x

Thanks all! I’ll try the sleep sack with one arm in and one arm out and we’ll see how we go! I’m thinking by 3 months ish he should have a little more control over his arm movements 🤞🏻😂 we’ll see!! X
