Constipation

Since Christmas, after quite a traumatic visit to the toilet, my wee boy has been finding it hard to go poo. He’s genuinely scared - as a result, he is getting constipated which is causing his poos to be hard and painful. And now, even the sheer mention of trying for a number two causes a huge reaction and upset. 😢 Any advice??? Every night is awful, poo or not! 💩

We were given lactolose by the GP which helped after a while

@Kath Yeah, we were giving it sporadically but ran out at the weekend. It definitely seemed to help and will get more to maybe take more regularly. Just wondered if anyone else had any advice. It’s making him and me so sad.

We also used a box of toys only for the toilet which encouraged her to stay on the toilet longer and do a 💩 x

My little one has been on Laxido paediatric for a year - it has helped a lot. Every time I think I can start weaning off though she misses a few days 😆 It isn't a concern her being on it long term though and I'd rather that than it become an issue (again).

We were having an issue with her pooing in her overnight nappy in the morning but changed from meds at breakfast to meds in eve on Dr's advice and now we usually get an evening poo!

I’d see a gp as soon as and get a laxative and stay on it on a low dose for a little while. My LB was constipated and has now been stool withholding for over 6months as we didn’t really get the proper help we needed. Laxido is better than lactulose when trying to treat constipation and the ERIC website gives good advice and help with constipation 🙂

Same here for my son too! He literally shakes and screams and cries and hysterically shouts about his poo hurting even if its a normal and not hard poo. We've given him laxido sachets and seems to have helped it be easier but the mental torture for him is still there no matter what we do xx

My little boy is also on laxido, one sachet a day as it is helping him go. Since I can remember he has had solid poo and sometimes blood because it is so big or solid. Hasn't had that since starting laxido, fingers crossed x
