That’s completely normal ☺️ the composition of your breastmilk changes as your baby gets older, and your baby also becomes a lot more efficient at feeding. It’s very rare for my daughter to breastfeed for longer than 5 minutes at a time unless she’s in pain or struggling to sleep.

Mine takes a while to eat now but she used to be like that, but it's okay! Babies are really good at getting larger quantities of milk out than we think, they have a good technique lol and usually when they have shorter nursing periods they tend to nurse more frequently, mine is one and half and she still cluster feeds.

mine used to take 30 minutes total and now takes 10. it’s normal! they get more efficient at eating and your breast milk changes. your body and your baby know what they need. if your baby was crying and fussy it would be more of a concern.

Mine never stayed on one boob for more than 5 min, once the intense flow slows down, he wants the other one, and after 5 min on the other one he is full and done 👍 longer times came later - maybe 10min (towards 1yo and older) but its more for connection/soothing

It varies from baby to baby. One mom could breastfeed 15-20min per breast, equating 30-40mins and baby will be good for a few hours. Another mom, like myself, fed for 5-10min every 30min due to cluster feeding. That was my experience for like 7mths! Eventually the cluster feeding stopped and she would latch for about 10mins one breast and be good for a couple of hours.

6 mins is totally normal! Babies become amazingly efficient at breastfeeding. You'll know she's sick, teething, or feeling off when it takes longer again and she's looking for more comfort.
