Post partum belly

Everyone says you lose weight by breastfeeding but I haven’t at all. I’m nearly 8 months post partum and I still have a really round firm belly, I have gained 2 stone, have an overhang and it’s not shifting. Is this normal? When did you all lose weight?

It’s normal. In order to lose weight breastfeeding you’d have to eat less (which doesn’t affect supply btw). I would look into pelvic floor therapy (the belly and pelvic floor are very much connected) and doing some abs workout. I personally lost weight breastfeeding but it was during a season I wasn’t eating as much and “breastfeeding hunger” kind of went away. Somewhere before I was 1 year PP

After this second one it’s been a bit harder to get back to the stomach I had before. I’m also eating ALOT mostly bc of breastfeeding and trying to keep up with that. &If I skip a meal I will have a headache or migraine so I’m just trying the best I can. They say your body doesn’t fully heal after having a baby until 5 years after. I’ve also been told that using a corset works, you just have to be consistent with it. I just hate being squished.

I always eat and drink more while breastfeeding I’m so hungry. I had an oversupply and saved the extra milk to feed other babies and my own. I lost weight once I stopped breastfeeding and eating so much to sustain my oversupply.

I didn’t lose the weight after my 2nd cause I was pregnant and didn’t know it.

I followed PP accounts for workouts for strengthening core and diastasis Recti and ate healthy, drank lots of water, got in my 10k steps most days, and I got back to weight by 18m, and nicely toned belly. I’m not one to just sit back and wait for my weight to fall off though I put in lots of effort for that to happen. I lost 44lbs, my baby weight that I’d gained. I waited until I healed fully at 3m and then started a regime. He’s now 5 and I’ve been intermittent fasting for 2yrs and dancing twice a week to keep my weight off and to stay fit and toned and strong. This is after 3rd baby.

👀 just like they say you can't get pregnant while breast feeding?? Lol .. don't believe that fake news. Just be intentional in the weight loss and consider it may take longer than the next person but it will happen.
