Potty training

My little girl just turned 19 months old yesterday and I’m thinking about starting to introduce the potty? One has been in the bathroom and downstairs for a couple of months now and she will sit on it and say “poo” and on a couple of occasions she has done that and actually had a poo in her nappy, and she tells me when she weed and poos, she’s been doing this for a couple of months. Just wondering if anyone else has started or if anyone has any tips on it? Thank you 🥰 Picture for attention 🥰

We followed the "Oh Crap" book. It took about a week and he is now completely potty trained for the day time.

My son is 20 months, very little signs of potty training readiness before we started but I wanted to give it a go after we got him to have a wee on the potty. Since we’ve started doing it a week or so ago, he’s only peed once more on the potty but he’s done amazing knowing about peeing and pooping now and what the potty is used for (using the words and showing signs when he needs to go) so he’s made great progress. So if your daughter has more readiness then defo go for it xx

We're similar to you. We started a couple of months ago very informally, just letting him sit on the potty and get used to it basically. We've now moved to only doing nappy changes in the bathroom with the potty to help build the association that it's for going to the toilet and we take him in with us every time we need to go. Yesterday he did his first wee on the potty but then stood up almost immediately so all went on the floor 🤣

I’m thinking of starting, as mine is able to say when he wees and poos so is sitting on the potty morning and night and through the day at nursery
