Boys

Hi I was wondering other peoples experiences as I’ve heard from a few people we know boys can be more lazy then girls with going to the toilet ? My son is 4 and has been really good using the toilet day/night since he was about 2 and a half maybe 3 years old, the past month at least once a week he’s coming home from nursery with them saying he’s had 3 accidents we have noticed at home he’s had an accident once or twice but 3 times feels excessive to me he’s only there for three hours. Even at home it’s very rare like if he’s having a nap he’s usually very good with toileting. My question is did anyone else children do really well and then start having accidents again? I’m worried as he’s starting big school in September and I thought we was out of the accident stage a while ago. Tia to anyone who read this far and any advice x

Just thought I asked as this can change things. Is he the baby of the group or is there another baby smaller or on the way? Having increased accidents could show he’s having issues solely at the daycare setting. Has something changed there? New teacher? New kids?

I had this with my first two (girl, then boy). It could be that something had changed and he is feeling unsure about things, so that is why he has regressed. It could be attention related. Or it could just because life is far too exicting and he doesn't want to leave what he is doing to go! The latter was 100% my daughter 😆 Whichever it is sure to be a phase and he will get back into the swing of it. Dont panic about school, he will sense that from you. Just go with it and perhaps spend the next week or so asking him again about going, like u did when he was learning. U got this 👍🏻 💪🏻 xx

My boy did this!! I found his trousers were too small or tight and he couldn’t get them down easy enough! Also… the nursery staff weren’t paying enough attention when he said he needed to go… I made sure they set 30 minute timers to ask if he needs to go and to offer support everytime x it soon stopped x
