My oldest, just over 3 when we had the confidence to go out without nappies. We never pressured him to do it by a certain age, we just slowly and consistently helped him. My second just did it himself around 2y4m 😅 he genuinely just copied big brother, we didn't have to do anything!
So my 4 year old is fully potty trained for a wee during the day its just getting him to poo now
My 2yo is so caught up playing and I periodically ask if they need to pee but she’s playing and then stops, does her dance and sometimes doesn’t make it but majority she’s trained! Almost 3
@Laura 🍉🇵🇸✊🏻 my son turned 3 & half on the 12th of this month & I honestly thot we would be potty trained by now. I’ve tried everything bt it hasn’t worked. I was stressed out abt like a yr ago when he was 2.5 cuz I guess that’s the “normal” age for most kids bt nowadays I’ve just learned to let it go. I have faith, jus like ur daughter did that he will jus do it on his own. Jus like wen he all of sudden refused breast feeding or when he finally refused his bottle of milk. It all jus sorta happened on its own so I’m jus going to let this happen on its own too. And hearing stories like urs gives me hope that some kids jus decide on their own instead of being “trained”
@Jasmin Sometimes perfectly healthy, typical kids just take longer, and that's ok
@Laura 🍉🇵🇸✊🏻 yes I completely agree. And also I don’t even believe it’s taking “longer” I just think it’s happening right on time when it’s supposed to happen. Something I’ve noticed abt child development and just being a 1st time mom in general is that sometimes there is this pressure to “pass” certain milestones idk who comes with these timelines cuz every individual is different and thats okay. Kids will perform differently in childhood and even as adults we all reach certain achievements in different stages of adulthood. X
My eldest was by a week after her 4th birthday. We had been trying everything and she just decided on her own, and had maybe 2 accidents 🫠🙃 We had been so stressed about it, I even ordered her a potty reminder watch for kinder... then she wakes up and just decided she didn't want nappies anymore 🥲
