Anyone EBF & not managed to get baby to take a bottle?

My 10 month old is EBF. I've been trying for months to get her to take a bottle or at least have my pumped milk from a straw cup but she just won't drink it. She drinks water from a straw but won't take milk! I'm starting work in less than 2 months time and I'm so worried! Has anyone been in my situation? What did you end up doing?

I'm the same with my 9.5 month! He won't even drink water from a cup so also worried about work in a few months! Following for advice x

I went trough the same with my then 7 month old, as returning to work was pending, I gave her formula in a MAM bottle made sure it was nice and warm and only offered her that no breast milk at every other feed, after some persistence it finally worked. I had been trying to get her bottle for months, and now she just has one breastfeed in the night all the rest bottle!

You don’t need to worry, over a year old it’s fine for them to go without breastmilk when you are apart, they will make up for it when you are back together.

My son has never taken a bottle or cup of milk. I returned to work at 12 months and we’re still nursing at 17 months without any issues. He’s fine without milk when I’m working/ he’s at nursery and he feeds on demand when we’re together x

@Yasmin amazing! Do you work full time lovely? Are you away from him 8-6?

Same my son is now 15 months and still won’t take a bottle or drink milk from a cup. He started nursery at 12 months and he feeds when we get home from work and then overnight. I was worried too mainly because he wasn’t eating solids properly before 12 months so I was relying on breast milk to feed him but after he turned 12 months suddenly he started eating properly (thankfully) and milk was no longer his main source of nutrition after that age so worked out in the end. How is your girl doing with her solids?

@Salam not so well with solids. That's also my other concern. Hoping she starts to eat more too!

Full time I work shifts so also miss 3 nights a week and again he’s absolutely fine. I work 10 hour days plus a 2 hour commute - again he’s always been fine! He eats better when away from me and before I returned to work food was a bit hit and miss but guessing he was genuinely hungry so he began to eat more x

@Yasmin thank you so much lovely xx

She might drink it when you’re not around! But if not she’ll be nearly a year so absolutely fine without :) I went back to work (as a teacher so apart from 7 - 5ish) at 11 months and didn’t feed my boy… we’re still breastfeeding at almost 21 months. When he was a little younger I fed him as soon as we were reunited but now we’re only down to at night.
