Pumping during the night?

Is anyone else exclusively pumping? I am pumping between 30-40oz a day over about 5-7 sessions in a 24hr period. My baby goes to bed about 6-7pm and usually wakes up once in the night between 1-3am for a feed and then goes back down until 7am. My husband gets up for the early morning feed and change while I pump, curious if anyone else has a similar schedule or goes through the night without pumping?

Pumping as I’m commenting. I pump exclusively every 2-3 hours. Baby goes down around 8-9 and won’t woke up for a feed till about 3-4 then sleeps in till about 7-8.

@Cristina Do you get up every 2-3 hours during the night to pump too, or just when your baby wakes up?

I do, I set alarms. I use hands free pumps, lean back on two pillows and use a travel neck pillow to pump for 30 mins and snooze. Then bottle up in the fridge and get back to sleep horizontally

This is our exact same schedule, except I pump every 3 - 4 hours at night. The 2 - 3 was killing me sleepwise. Sometimes, I still oversleep one of the pumps and go 5 - 6 hours, but it happens less now that I try to space them out better. Pumping is a journey!

And I usually do 8 - 9ppd and pump anywhere from 45 - 60 ounces.

I exclusively pump and find that I need to pump about twice at night to stay comfortable. Usually ends up being at around 1am and 4am. Even so I wake up totally engorged. I'll occasionally prioritize sleep though and go longer between pumps.

I pump every 1.5-3 hours ish during the day, then one last time around 11:30 after doing a dream feed. Then once when she wakes up between 2-5. So I go about 5 hours sometimes at night. And I pump a little over 30 ounces. My first morning pump is like 9:30 but I have like 1 session of breast feeding at 6/7 am. I do breast feed but she screams at me if I try during the day so the night feed is about the only one I do still.

How do you get to pump 30oz. In struggling to pump 4oz 😢.

@Dalianna over the whole day. Not in one pump. If you are struggling. Are you exclusively pumping? How often and how long do you pump? We might be able to give you suggestions but don't want to suggest things that aren't helpful.

@Dalianna at the start after my milk had come in I was similar in I wasn’t pumping a lot at all and we were having to top up with formula. The lactation consultant at the hospital said I needed 24mm for nipple size so that’s what I was using at home. After not getting a lot of milk for a couple of weeks and pumping being painful, I switched from a babybuddha pump to the Momcozy m9. With that came a nipple measuring tool, I used that and found out I’m actually 17mm not 24mm, after I got the right size I was able to pump so much more, that combined with trying to stay really hydrated felt like what worked for me. Everyone’s different so don’t be too harsh on yourself but maybe check to make sure you have the right size :). (I also only pump for 15 mins total each time)
