How much in a bottle?!

I EBF but have she’s recently been taking a bottle of breast milk which is great - she’s almost 5 months but will only do 3 oz in a bottle… Because she’s usually fed from the breast I don’t know if that’s enough in a single feed for her or if she’s just refusing the bottle but is still hungry, because she usually seems to be hungry again an hour later whereas she wouldn’t be like that with the breast Am I overthinking and 3oz from a bottle is fine? Thankyou 🙏🏻

People will say babies only ever have 5 ounces but all babies are different! I pump and at 5 months my baby was having 7oz a bottle 😮‍💨 but a friend of mine has a baby of a similar age who js fed from breast and then would have a 2-3oz bottle because she didn’t like the bottle and would wanna feed again 20-30 mins later x

You could try different bottles/nipple sizes to see if she likes one more and will drink more to get actually full :)

My baby is 5 months old and gets breast and bottle and will drink anywhere between 4-5 oz depending on how hungry he is. His twin sister doesn't like the bottle and will drink 1 - 3 oz. I would say just go with the flow, and if she is hungry again within the hour, feed her.

Breast fed babies typically take less quantity as our milks more fatty and has higher calorie / nutrients than formula I wouldn’t worry

Thanks everyone!!!

I exclusively pump, my daughter is 6 months and she’s been having five 5oz bottles per day for the past few months xx
