Try new positions and drag your nip from forehead to nose then mouth breastfeed laying down or adjust holding position to babies preferred way of laying. Do it in a space that will not overwhelm you for a few weeks so you and baby get the routine and at the beginning your nips will be sore but it wears off after using breast feeding safe nip cream and some nip pad covers when babies sleeping. I have a 1 year old who I breastfeed and a newborn that I’m relearning to breastfed with. Different babies like different things sometimes they just want the easiest choice which is bottle try to limit bottle feeds if you are deciding to breastfeed it helps the baby know that they have to work for the milk they are alittle lazy at first after a while they get the hang of it

get a lactation consultant if you can, the hands on assistance should help!! avoid giving him the bottle as much as you can because he could develop a bottle preference. the bottle is much easier for them to drink from than the breast and they will get lazy lol

My baby girl had nipple confusion when I EBF and then started bottle feeding to supplement with my pumped breastmilk. Try using different position or nipple shield. Nipple shield helped me with her latching better because she was so used to easy latching on the bottle she wasn’t opening her mouth open to latch thus she was getting super frustrated about it too. Also I make sure the flow of the bottle isn’t too fast. I still use preemie flow and I stop every 1 oz to give slow feeding to kind of “match” my BF because I noticed she also gets super upset when she’s not getting the milk fast like her bottle, and she would just keep unlatching and crying out of frustration. After doing all those, it got a lot better when I supplement with bottle. I don’t use the nipple shield anymore :) I only needed it for that one week.

How’s your breastfeeding going?
