Bad Acid reflux

My midwife prescribed me omeprozole its been a god send! Ask for some! Before that I was chuffing milk and it helped enough yo be semi comfortable xx

Oh they’ve prescribed me that too and told me to double on it because it wouldn’t work in beginning , I guess I’ll double on it . But I’m so scared to take pills 💊 smh

@Shanelle don't be scared you need to feel good too take the 2 a day until it kicks in then if you really want take down to 1 that's what I did xx

I’ve been the exact same, omeprazole doesn’t work for me do I got esomeprazole which sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t work☹️ I’ve been going through so much milk I would be as well buying a cow, rennies help a little and so do love heart sweets! I’ve found the only way I can sleep when I have the reflux is by sleeping all propped up! I didn’t even realise that the bile acids were causing my reflux🫠 x

I find Rennie works so much better than Gaviscon! I usually have 2 before bed and then 2 when I wake up in the night from the burning 😅

I feel you! Omeprazole and gaviscon does nothing for me.. Rennies is much better, but l still have heartburn quite badly. So sorry, l can not really offer any advice, other than telling you the truth. I do feel much better after if l can be sick , it helps me a lot. I know it is not ideal, and it does drain you mentally as well when you are constantly unwell❤️ you can do it, only a few weeks left now😊

Agreed omeprazol has been a life saver! Literally completely gone

Talk to your GP and get some omeprazole. Try sleeping more upright at night. Avoid fatty foods, spicy foods, caffeine, acidic foods like tomatoes and juice. Can try peppermint tea. Try not to eat close to bed time.

I've been finding a mix of lemon and ginger tea (specifically Twinings), Rennies and glasses of cold milk keep me semi comfortable. Mine is so bad if I bend over or as soon as I lie down for bed 🤣 Tums would help too, but I think Rennies work better! I found things like Peptac (which works similarly to Gaviscon) did absolutely nothing!

Awe guys thank you , I think I have taken all of these Medicines, the midwives have even given me injections . They’ve now prescribed me another dose of omeperxzole 20mg and I took it last night and it was that bad So fingers crossed I can’t like acid reflux is the worse part of my pregnancy But few weeks to go and I can’t wait 😛 Thank you all ❤️

Ask your midwife for omeprazole. It’s perfectly safe for you and baby and is amazing! I was like you in both pregnancies and now I get nothing since taking omeprazole. I’ve been on it in both from around 30 weeks
