Dizziness

Has anyone had any episodes of extreme dizziness? I've had it a little when I stand up too quick and things like that. But I was just at the shop and while walking around I just started feel generally uncomfortable, bit of back ache, stomach felt heavy (even though I only have a small bump at 14 weeks 😅). Then when I was standing at checkout and the lady was scanning all my stuff I suddenly felt worse and worse, feeling really dizzy, sweating, felt like I was going to throw up, couldn't breathe properly. Really think I was close to passing out. I ended up saying I'm so sorry I don't feel good and sat down. The lady got me some water and thenafter maybe 5 mins I felt pretty much fine. I feel a bit "floaty" now and not 100% but haven't felt 100% the last 14 weeks anyway! Just wondering if this is normal or if I should call the doctor to be checked? I know dizziness is normal but not sure if it is to that extent. I had eaten plenty and always drink so much water so I don't think it was low blood sugar/dehydration. I have been very very tired recently but I have a 3.5 yo so not much I can do about that 🤦🏻‍♀️ This was also the first time I'd gone out today and had previously just been sat at home working so don't feel like I over did it

God sorry that was a way longer post than anticipated. Thank you to anyone who reads and has any advice!

Hey Katie, probably best to get checked out to be safe if it’s a new thing for you! x

Sorry I can’t help with much advice but wanted to at least let you know you’re not alone. Last week I had a sudden dizzy spell which was on and off all day, it was much the same as you described with no real reason behind it. Xx If it continues then it won’t hurt to check it out with a midwife or GP to be safe xx

Thanks both. I have left a message with my midwife to see if she thinks I need to be checked. Never had this with my first so it's thrown me a bit!

Mention it to your midwife! Always best to get checked out, my thoughts would be low iron?

I get this quite often, it can be very scary especially when you’re out as it’s like it comes out of nowhere. I would definitely talk to your doctor about it. It could just be from where your heart is pumping more blood because of the pregnancy. Or sudden drop in blood pressure or sugar levels. Try and always have a sugar snack on you and fluids when out just in case x
