Stye?

My 2 year old went to sleep last night. Woke up in the middle of the night bawling. I check on him. Notice his right eye is swollen and red. I look i see a white head on his waterline. He hates the warm compress and hates when we try to keep his hands out his face. Any tricks or do we gotta tough it out?
