Any one breastfeeding as well as pumping to occasionally bottle feed, how many times are you pumping to build a stash? And when are you finding the bed time to pump is?

My baby is 12 days old and currently having one pumped bottle in the night to give me a break, but looking to introduce more bottles soon. Tia.

I combo fed for a year - i always pumped for a few minutes immediately after nursing to make sure i was empty and to build a stash. I did end up with an over-supply for a while but I'd rather have too much than not enough

My lil one is 8 weeks and exclusively breastfed. I was more consistent with pumping int he first few weeks but honestly those night pumps were so so hard. I listened to my body and started pumping twice a day, once in the morning and once at night before bed. I bf during the night Sunday-Thursday and my partner bottle feeds him for the weekend. Honestly just do what works for you and don’t stress yourself too much!

@Abidemi @Sarah when did you start pumping? Do we have to wait for few weeks after the baby is born?

I pump twice a day usually, sometimes 3 times. Baby is 4 weeks. I’d highly recommended getting a milk collector like a haakaa or similar - I have the boon trove. You wear it on the opposite side to where you’re nursing. I can always get at least an ounce that way and it’s a really easy way to start a freezer stash. I’m not trying to get a huge stash but I probably have 7 or so bags in the freezer ranging from 2-4 ounces.

My son was 6 weeks early and I started pumping immediately. He was too small to latch (took about 6 weeks) so i pumped that whole time before I could finally nurse

Thanks everyone. Breastfeeding is so hard, so just trying to make things a little easier for me and baby. I have a collector I use while she’s feeding which is much easier than pumping however I’m not getting that much from it really.

@Rosie I used to pump at night time. After he falls asleep. It was exhausting, and the lonely nights were really hard. I'm a single mom, so I didn't have any help. I think you may want your partner to feed the baby. I used to pumped so the father of my child could feed him when He came to visited. I would say that the pressure of social media, family members, and friends or just society itself is too much for US as a mother. I decided to listen to my body and to give my son what it needs. I decided to breastfeed him on demand( this helped w my milk supply, btw) I wanted to have a stash 🥲 but it was mentally draining me 😩 Do what's best for you and your baby mama.❤️

@Abidemi agree!! Listen to our bodies and our babies' needs it's all that matters 💕

@Mahima I started pumping from day 3 to help my milk come in as my lil one was a lazy baby and didn’t want to latch in the beginning 😂
