Diastasis recti

I’ve been told a few times now during this pregnancy that I more than likely have Diastasis recti due to baby weighing down on my belly so much For those who don’t know what it is, it’s tearing of the lower abdomen during pregnancy It’s not as severe as it probably sounds, no harm to baby but I just wanna know if anyone else has this issue and how they deal with the pain!

Iv got this and don’t know what to do either. I’m so conscious of my figure after 3 babies and 3 c sections x

I have this after my first baby. It’s really not sore at all. All it means is your tummy isn’t as flat as it used to be be and it’s more prone to “doming” getting bloated after food and drink as your abs can’t hold your tummy in properly. You can do exercises to reknit your abs back together which is my plan after baby 2.

@Lisa trust me it’s sore 🤣 I’ve sat and cried in pain from it

Oh that’s strange, are you sure it isn’t something else? My abs split during baby 1, I didn’t repair them ( could feel a big gap between my abs at my belly button) and they are currently still split (and probably a bit more!) during baby 2 as I have “doming”. Perhaps your midwife can help if it’s Causing you such bad pain? Sorry to hear that
