@Gabrielle thanks for your message. I have been working from home today and usually I’m up and down in the office which helps. I’ll try something fizzy like a lemonade to see if that helps at all xx
I’m not sure if they really recommend “counting kicks” anymore. Every baby is different and it’s much more important to trust your instincts. You know how your baby normally moves so if you feel they aren’t moving as much and any usual tricks that get them moving aren’t working then it’s always best to get checked out ☺️
@Tash thank you for your message. I don’t feel like there’s anything wrong as such I think I’ve just panicked because it’s our first baby I’ve got nothing to compare it to. I haven’t moved much today either which may have had an effect on little miss xx
Advice from my midwife is anything after 26 weeks that is out of the norm or feels concerning. I'm currently 18 weeks and have felt movement from 16, starting to get a bit of a pattern to it but if my routine is different then movement tends to be different. I don't normally feel anything till I stop and am laid down but I understand the worry it causes when you don't feel what you normally would! I was worried last night and baby started moving 5 minutes after 🙈 x
@Molly thankyou that’s made me feel better. I thought I wouldn’t worry as much when I started to feel her move how wrong I was 😂xx
@Amelia same! I can't explain how relieved and irritated I was at the same time last night when baby moved 🙃 but always remember if your worried, but not worried enough to phone hospital you can always speak to your midwife, they're never going to say you're asking too many questions or being silly. They get it. ❤️
25 weeks if high risk and 28 for other pregnancies. If it takes longer than normal or more than 2hrs to reach the number your ob/midwife says to look for, go in and get checked out.
I never counted kicks, I just watched for patterns and if it reduced or increased suddenly to go in (which i didn't have to do).
It’s not necessarily counting kicks, just being aware of what’s normal for you from about 26 weeks. You’d find it hard to count! If you think she’s quiet go get checked out to be safe. The midwives don’t mind at all! Xx
@Marissa thanks for your message! If I’m ever worried I won’t hesitate to go and get checked. Within an hour of me posting yesterday she started kicking away 😊! Today she’s been kicking away also. I think until there’s some sort of pattern and she develops more there may be moments where she’s quiet xx
You usually start after 28 weeks but you could always try drinking something really cold or sweet or eating something sweet and that could help baby move. If you’re worried and don’t feel anything you can always go to the hospital
