I’m keen to conceive soon too but breastfeeding and not ovulating yet. LG is 9months and I cut night feeds a while ago and down to 4 daytime breastfeeds. Was hoping my periods would have come back already (didn’t think I would ever say that). I’m 34 but I have very low AMH so probably don’t have very long left to conceive baby 2#
@Katie I'm in a similar boat, was told I have low AMH, will be 35 this year but just had baby in Feb, normal delivery. I have my 1st period, unsure if in ovulating as I'm breastfeeding around the clock. I've heard of many women who breastfeed and have periods.... whether they ovulated is something else.
You can get your progesterone measured on day 21 to check if you’re ovulating. Some women struggle to conceive whilst breastfeeding due to a short luteal phase. Apparently B6 can help if this is the case. Personally I never want to track ovulation ever again (found it all consuming also I conceived twice when it said I had no LH spike) but might be an option. But your period is back so hopefully it will settle soon and you have a much better chance of conceiving than I do currently.
@Katie you're right tracking ovulation is all consuming and then it's always on your mind. I don't want to have to plan, wouldn't it be great if it just happened 😞 wishing you all the luck in the world for your ttc journey xx
Following as I'm still bfeeding my 15 month old and no period yet but thinking about getting pregnant again soon ish so would also like to hear any stories from mums who conceived before their period returned!
