Stomach Virus

So I work in a nursing home and I caught a stomach virus, which my husband has now caught. Our baby is 3 months will be 4 months next week. If she starts throwing up my mother-in-law (she works at a walk-in clinic) told me to not give her breast milk or formula, to give her pedialyte. Can I even give her that?

I think the recommendation is not to give it under the age of 1 without first talking to a pediatrician.

Also it’s best to give younger babies breast milk, if baby is sick their saliva will pretty much communicate that to your breast and make antibodies to help heal your baby. I’m not sure why she told you not to give her breast milk?

It literally helps to boost their immune system and fights off sickness

Breastmilk is literally pedialyte plus nutrients and antibodies. Do not feed her pedialyte instead 😬😬😬
