Step counting whilst holding pram

I get this is a very niche question but how are people tracking steps on their garmjns/apple watches whilst having both hands on the pram?!

When I’m on pavement and it’s safe to do so, I have one hand off 😂

I have Fitbit and it still counts my steps when pushing the pram.

My fitbit auto records the exercise but records me as being on a mountain bike 🙄😂. I guess it makes sense for where my hands are haha

I didn’t even know this was a thing? I set my Apple Watch off yesterday as an ‘outdoor walk’ and it recording everything and 6000 steps. I had both hands on the pram. Although my phone thinks I’m driving and puts phone in drive mode, I must be super fast 🤣

I know that Apple Watches have accounted for this. It made it into the news originally that they hadn’t considered period tracking in their health app and walking with a pram because so few women were involved in the design/creation process 😂 bet the other brands have accounted for it too.

I put mine on my ankle if off for a proper long walk, if it’s just school run or to the shops I leave it on my wrist xx

Put it around your ankle

Put it on your ankle! Or in your pocket xxx

I once walked to the station holding a coffee cup and my Apple Watch suggested it was an elliptical workout since my arm was upright.

Mine records even when I’m pushing the pram

@Yana oh clearly my garmin doesn't account for it 😂

@Kate hahah i love it

@Rheo oh really? My garmin doesn't seem to track it. Maybe I'll put it on an outdoor walk next time and see if it does. And yes, you must be sooo fast!

@Rhiann oh interesting. I'll have a look into it. Doesn't seem like garmin have it yet but not sure if I've just missed something
