Have you tried giving him the toothbrush and doing yours at the same time and trying to get him to copy? Might be a good way to get him used to it and then he might start to let you 🤞🏼 we gave our little girl her toothbrush to play around with for a bit before she even had any teeth and I think it really helped as she’s never been bothered about us doing them now
I give mine the toothbrush and most of the time she just puts it in her mouth and moves it around then I'll try brush her teeth after. I also brush my teeth at the same time so she will try and copy most of the time
I do what everyone suggested, she just put in her mouth occasionally and moves it around, mostly play with it. But she won't let us use her toothbrush to brush her teeth. 🙄
I'd agree with the above comments! You can also get finger brushes so if you are concerned about their teeth not being cleaned with him just playing with the brush then you could try brushing them for him with one🫶
We’ve been brushing her teeth since she was 4/5m and used to just have to hold her head while the other person puts the brush in but now we just say ‘ahhh’ and she opens her mouth and lets us do it. I think it’s just something they get used to overtime x
Have you tried doing it in front of a mirror? Mine hated teeth brushing initially, but when I moved to the mirror so he could see what was happening he immediately relaxed and now will play games with brushing
Second all the above! We do it together in front of a mirror x
We brush our teeth together and I let her brush mine too so we have a little play at brushing our own teeth and each others. I find her doing her own gets her used to the texture and taste and then when I do it at least I know it’s actually touched her teeth 🤣 with my first (9years ago admittedly) the dentist told me it needn’t be an actual brush, smear toothpaste on a teething toy if you have to, exposure to the toothpaste is more important than the scrubbing of the brush. I don’t know if the guidance has changed since xx
