Vbac with minimal pain relief

Has anyone got any positive experience in having a vbac with minimal pain relief, and using techniques such as hypnobirthing, combs and tens machine. I have had issues in past with pain relief and want to try and avoid it as much as possible.

I only used gas and air and I think the biggest thing for me was focusing on breathing. Hypnobirthing is great for that, I also read up on the science of labour and giving birth because I had no idea that adrenaline slows your labour, even though it was my second child! I had a really positive experience so definitely recommend giving it a go

Tens machine really helped me get through early labour. I didn't like gas and air (didn't touch the sides) but found movement, breathing and water helpful. I had successful VBAC at home and it was really fast once it really got going!

I plan on using the shower and pool a lot. I’m planning a VBAC at home so I won’t have pharmaceutical pain relief as an option. I’ve heard that natural endorphins help a lot with pain management, and being unmedicated supposedly helps maintain endorphin levels.

Positive VBAC, using a comb, hypno birthing/controlled breathing, pool and gas and air in midwife led unit. Very empowering experience for me and one id like to experience again if we have another baby. Good luck with what you decide xx

I used a comb, a bath and an exercise ball. Some acupuncture/acupressure as well because my doula was an acupuncturist. Of course it hurts but it was manageable and a very positive experience as a whole. I found that moving and standing up felt a lot better than laying down. I would do hip rotations or simply walk around during contractions and it seemed to help a lot more than anything else.
