Am I a bad mom ?

My baby girl is 11months and doesn’t know how to use a bottle or sippy cup because she’s breast fed and barley eats solids mostly because I’m too lazy to enforce meals and cook for her it’s so much easier to whip out a boob and nurse her…but when I do cook for her she only eats a few bits and waste most of it so I feel like it’s a waste of time..I hope I’m not a bad mom for feeling like it’s just easier to breast feed but I know she’s turning 1 soon so I really want to start enforcing solid foods more and suck it up and cook more for her

Not a bad mom but I would start to introduce solids so that your LO gets used to different textures, tastes and learns to chew etc. you could start on purses and spoon feeding to see how your LO takes to it and then slowing increase to lumpier foods / whole foods in accordance with baby led weaning practices. It really doesn’t take that much to mash / puree some vegetables that you might have with lunch or dinner. You can even batch make and then freeze so then when it’s time for food, you just have to take out freezer and warm up.

My little one is 11 months and still loves to breastfeed but I would definitely start introducing food now before they get too picky. I think you are making feeding too much of a task. My baby’s first solid food was a French fry. 😂 you can start with just introducing safe soft foods that you are already eating. I took the 101 before one course which helped me with the overwhelm and focused on making meals you and baby can eat so you don’t have to make a separate meal for baby.

I’d just say a lazy mom. Which usually turns into a bad mom eventually. I’ve seen happen too many times. If you won’t go the extra mile for your child then who will? Try to be the best mom you can be. If you know that you’re just being lazy then simply don’t be lazy and do what’s best for your baby.

I totally get that its easier to get the boob out but you need to be persistent with the food as if they’re not used to it then they will spit it out. I started weaning my baby at 5.5 months and she spat most of it out because it was different but after feeding her every day she’s more used to it and eats more. It’s not hard to feed baby. I buy sainsburys own purée in the little packets so you literally don’t need to cook anything just warm it up for a few seconds in the microwave and it’s sorted. If you’re struggling to buy stuff like that then batch cooking is a good way too and pop it in the freezer. I get it’s so hard some days for motivation but sometimes you need to be disciplined to actually do what’s best for baby

I don’t mean to sound rude but to say you’re too lazy to cook and feed your child is absolutely crazy to me. You’re doing what’s easier and more convenient for you and not what is best for your child

I don’t think you are a bad mom at all, foods optional for under the age of one. It’s more to get them used to textures and tastes. Try your best to do more but you are by no means a bad mom. Maybe try prepping food for the week so all you have to do is warm up the food.

@Krystle foods optional under the age of one, it’s for fun

Dm me if you need some ideas on how to start your little💕

@Samantha I am aware of this however in the uk it’s different. My baby started solids at 6months old. It’s more the fact she says she’s too lazy, her baby is also one in a few weeks.
