@Mia so hard isn’t it? I’ve put him down again 🤞🏻 one of my 4yo twins keeps getting up too 🥴
Yes my girl is crying with hiccups :/ hoping she will calm down soon i’m tired 😅
It could be because he can smell milk on you so when he’s on you he thinks about feeding even though he’s not hungry anymore he’s just tired. I find my baby girl sometimes won’t settle to sleep on me, particularly after a feed, and will get upset and start rooting, but then goes over to her dad and will settle just quicker. Does he use a dummy? Mine will take her dummy when she’s over tired as she then uses that to soothe rather than my boob!
I had the same thing when my guy was finding the boob a bit too much like hard work, I switched to pumped bottles for the overnight feeds atleast and he settled so much better when he was properly full up xx
My midwife told me they have growth spurts & cluster feeding periods at 7 - 10 days , 2-3 weeks , 6 weeks and 3-6 months My boy is 4 weeks old and since week 3 he has been having contact naps during the day as it’s impossible to get him to stay in his bed and during the night me and my partner have been holding him, putting a swaddle, doing everything we can to get him to sleep 1/2 hours in his bed
Thanks for all your responses, so many possibilities! I had the health visitor out today and shel echoed most of this as well so I feel a bit more comfortable about it
Good luck tonight @Mia @Lucy
You too! Just think this doesn’t last forever enjoy the newborn snuggles as much as you can!
By some miracle he went down before midnight and then roused about 3:30am for a feed Hopefully he’ll go back down easier after that good chunk of sleep 🤞🏻
Hope you managed to get some sleep in that time mama!
I did thankfully 🤍
Exactly the same here. I’m fkin knackered 🫠😂 I thought I was in the clear to attempt put her down in her crib until she looked up at me with the biggest eyes and started screaming 😂
