Yes! My first was 9lbs 5oz 😅 My second was 8lbs, still a decent size but felt tiny to me 🤣
My son has been the size of a 2 yr old since he was 7mo old lol
I’ve had a 6lb baby and a 9lb11oz baby, I much preferred having the bigger one, he felt less fragile! My first baby is 2 and the second is 9 months and they’re only a size apart in nappies and fit in the same vests 😂
@Katie yes exactly, everyone’s babies got called cute and tiny but the only thing they had to say about my son was that he was big 😅, there’s much more to him than his size
I felt that way for a while until I had my preemie in July of 2024 she was 3 lbs 15 oz ( aside the 2 lb stillborn I birthed). My 15 y.o son was 11 lbs and my 14 y.o daughter was 8 lbs 1 oz
I love a chunky healthy baby though
I felt as if my baby was so fragile and tiny omg it was an experience… I desired to give her all breast milk but being that she was premature she had to have a milk fortifier added to my breast milk and that put her at risk for NEC but I’m grateful to God that she’s healthy
My first born was 8lbs 4oz at birth but never lost her baby weight and was in the NICU 12 days so she was out of everything newborn by the time she came home. I just gave birth to an 8lb baby but she lost her baby weight so she’s down to 7lbs 2oz and we had to get more newborn clothes for her and she just feels so dainty and fragile
I never wanted small babies after I had my first. I got used to her being a big baby that I was scared I'd not be able to effectively handle a smaller baby. All mine were big: 9.2, 9.8, 10.6 so I know nothing else.
Yeah💔 my second was born 10lb6 and my last baby so felt robbed of my last baby.. he went straight into 3-6 clothes.. and now he’s just turnt one and in 2-3 clothes😭😭 I mean he was cute and chunky but still!!
I get what you mean; my boy was 9lb and didn’t fit into any new born clothes either. And he felt especially huge compared to his sister who was 6lb when born! But he’s 2 now and when I look back at photos of him, he did look tiny ☺️
My first was 10 pound 3 he was the biggest nicu baby. Then my second was 8 pound 6 and she was 2 weeks early and she still didn't seem small. The only thing with my son is he is still in small bottom half but always needs to go up in top size quickly now he's nearly 4 and my 1 year old daughter is in 12 to 18 and feel like it won't be long before she's in 18 to 24 but she's not walking yet so she may slim down. Your not crazy for feeling like this all feelings totally valid xf
My second baby was 8 lbs 14 oz. she’s currently ten months and wearing 24 month size clothes 😭
my baby is my first and was 9lbs 10oz so i feel you. shes been in 12m clothes since 5.5 months 🥲 shes not insanely chunky but shes super tall which makes me worried she wont find a partner taller than her cause i had that issue as a teen too 😅 but shes constantly bigger than every baby her age, shes almost 7 months now and is as big as her cousin thats almost 1.5 years old. she also basically always as tall as toddlers so it just feels like i have a toddler that cant talk or walk yet 🫠 since she was 4 months ive always said she feels like a toddler and not a baby anymore

I think it's quite rare to have a 'perfect' newborn stage. Having had a small baby, who needed an operation at 1 day old and didn't reach birth weight until 7 weeks later when we were discharged, and was under the lowest centile line until she was 1 I would have given anything for her to be a big healthy baby! It's annoying that people feel the need to comment on things like baby's size, I totally get that. I ended up lying about age rather than recount our NICU story for old people in the supermarket 😂 this isn't to invalidate your feelings because I understand where they come from but a reminder that many people have a different experience with a newborn than they maybe expected. I think you'll look back on this time, particularly when yours is a toddler, and see that just because he's a big baby, he's still a baby and they're all small! My friend has had two big babies and seeing the newborn I still think aww tiny new baby 😊 dunno who the pricks are calling yours massive! But they probably mean well🙄
Yeah, my little on was 9lbs 8oz and 21.5 inches long. And she was 2 weeks early 🤣She did fit 0-3mths the day she was born but by 2mths she was in 3-6mths. By 12 months she was in 18-24mths. Even now, she just turned two and she's in a 3t.
Can definitely relate! I've had 3 babies and they've all been big! My first was 8lb 12, second 8lb 9 and 3rd 9lb 9! My first had newborn clothes for about 2 weeks ish, as did my 2nd, my 3rd however barely fit anything newborn from day 1, she was just too long 😅. I still look back though and think she was tiny, as although she was big in weight and length she felt petite if that makes sense? My 2nd (boy) was big though, so stocky and grew so quickly!
I totally get it! My family has big babies and my mom said she was always a little sad she never got to hold her babies when they were under 9 lbs haha. I had an ultrasound at 34 weeks and he was measure 6 lbs already (my daughter was 8 lbs 13 oz). but I’d rather have a big healthy baby than a tiny one with scary health stuff!
I feel this! My little girl was 9lb 14oz She was a little chunk haha currently pregnancy with number 2 so will be interested to see their weight :)
I remember taking my son to a baby group when he was 10 weeks old and all the other mums were saying how cute and little eachothers baby's were, all they had to say about my son was "wow, what are you feeding him?" and "someone must like their milk"🥲 by that point he was in 6-9 clothes and size 4 nappies. I wouldn't change a thing but yeah, I can relate big time
