Sick Days

I am just going on my 3rd week back to work and I am now on my second day of having to use PTO because of illness and daycare issues. One day the daycare had to close the infant classroom due to shortage of staff because of illness. Now today I feel she is sick and needs to go see the pediatrician so I have to take time off work again. I don’t see how this is sustainable! And I work with clients. I don’t see how canceling and rescheduling them all the time is going to work.

ya girl daycare sickness is no joke. it’s like every 2 weeks a new sickness. the only thing that helped me was taking immunity boosters every morning, i would drink the suja turmeric shot ones i’ll post a picture

It's not sustainable. I don't know how my husband and I could have done it if we didn't work from home and take turns juggling childcare to cover one another's meetings and working overnight sometimes to finish our work. It was brutal for the first year but it does get better. We only got sick once between April and September during the first year and less than half as often during the second year. I've seen some people in local groups who hire babysitters with hazard pay to cover sick time.
