PGP sufferers

What have you found works for you? I suffered terribly in my first pregnancy, in the pubic bone (it literally felt like it was fractured i could barely walk). Now I've got pain in both butt cheeks and from googling it sounds like it might be PGP again. I didn't find anything that helped last time. Ice, baths, heat, walking. I actually think it's walking that's brought it on this time. I'm dreading going through this again. Any advice?

Could it be sciatica? I’ve sciatica and it hurts like heck. I’m to the point where I think I might need crutches during this pregnancy. X

I have the same, it gets worse with walking or if I sit down in the same position for too long. I bought a birthing ball and found that it helps me relieve the pain.

Birthing ball helped, specific pgp exercises on YouTube helps and also taking care to keep a pillow between knees when you sleep, turning both knees at the same time when you turn around

Yoga ball & exercises each night before bed. Pregnancy pillow between legs. Getting in / out of car with legs closed. Changing whilst sitting (try not to stand on one leg). Swimming helps. Paracetamol for really bad days. I have a crutch that I use on bad days too or if we are going for longer walks like to the park. You could try a pregnancy belt but this doesn’t help me ☹️ walking makes mines worse but sitting does too so just trying to move a little and sit a little - so difficult with a toddler 😅 I’m going to see pelvic health physio tomorrow so will see if they suggest anything else. I had it bad with my first one too but forgot how to manage it and don’t think I did tbh!

@Lucinda I've asked for a referral from the GP. Last time the midwives sent me to a thing for PGP and it was essentially a learning session about what it is and a free belt. And the belt does nothing for me either. Thanks for the tips I'll try these x

@Sophia Yeah the belt seems to work for some but not for others. The physio last time told me to sit on a plastic bag in the car to easily swivel in and out without having to open my legs. I also use an Apple Watch to remind me to get up & stand at work every 15 mins. Although, I am still suffering with daily pain & it’s so variable so I’m not finding anything specifically that helps but anything that helps maintain / reduce symptoms slightly is a win at the moment.
