My 5 week old hss been an extremely sleepy baby at the breast since day one and will nurse about 10-14 mins one side only. I use a haaka on the other breast while he nurses on one side and then just give him that milk via bottle after the breast. This way I can visually see him getting the extra so we are not feeding all day and he also has the habit of taking a bottle
@Hareem that’s actually very smart! I just hate the feeling of the pump seen my boobs are sore and tender! While he’s nursing on my other boob because my baby is not good at latching.
@Rachel ive had extremely painful latch issues with both my kids now and I'm not ready to exclusively pump again for my current babe. Did it for 5 weeks and i feel like along with the milk the pump is sucking the life out of me 😅 so the haaka helps with that as it reduces time at the breast and hand compressions during the feed to speed things along. Hang in there!
@Hareem yes yesterday one of my breast was very very sore and full of milk but I can’t seem to get milk out to relieve the pain my baby couldn’t get it out either I was stressing yesterday badly 😓 but I’ve pump all day today I think for about 3 hours and still it feels hard and engorged I don’t know what to do.
@Hareem which bottle do you use for your baby? Thinking about offering a bottle soon but don’t want nipple confusion.
I breast feed my toddler on one boob than she’ll sleep sometimes she sleeps right when she’s on my boob so it’s not that long. When she sleeps and wake up I’ll put it on my other boob for her next session. Idk if that’s how you’re supposed to do it. My daughter sleeps very fast which she doesn’t sleep for a long period of time. My right boob is too tender so I keep feeding her with my left boob some how she just can’t latch good on my right which makes my nipple hurt.
