@Natalia thank you, I normally do leak and have milk to collect its just more and more often now there is nothing there! Scares me that I’m drying up even though I know I’m not!
How old is your baby? If it is connected with leaking, I stopped leaking around 3/4 months pp. I didn’t use a Haakaa much in the early months so perhaps this is different early on, but I use one often these days (7 months) and I can only really collect while my son is nursing on the other side to get the let down from his nursing. My breasts don’t have a let down if he isn’t nursing. In case it’s helpful, for me one breast can collect after he has nursed on that side while nursing on the second side, but the other can only collect if he hasn’t yet nursed from it. He is always able to get plenty of milk from either, even after expressing, so when I want to collect from both sides I need to do it in a specific order.
@Lily thank you! She is almost 5 weeks. I think i worded myself wrong in my post, I use the collector on one breast while she is feeding on the other (ie. She hasn’t fed on the collector breast yet during that feed) but I think i will try swapping breasts and collecting on the breast that has already fed to see if that makes a difference. It’s just strange as sometimes there is milk dripping, sometimes not! I will try some different things out!
Not all women leak, if you aren’t expressing, latched or pumping it just may not leak out on its own but it doesn’t always mean anything is wrong with your supply. You just might have to express in some way that’s all ☺️
