Only eating sugar after giving birth.

Is anyone else in the same boat.. gave birth a month ago and I don’t fancy eating anything savoury. Only sugar and coffee- chocolates, pastry’s, Fanta etc. absolutely crazy- I make myself a plate of food and I lose appetite after the second bite. I just don’t fancy anything that’s not fully sugar based.. I am also breastfeeding so very worried about the quality of my breast milk as well.

I am like this too (although I can still eat proper meals too haha). I'm breastfeeding but I also think because I had gestational diabetes, I'm making up for the lost sugar and carbs I couldn't eat for 9 months 😅 I am going to try to get myself into better eating habits though soon, but I felt I was just going to have some time off.

Im eating anything insight 😅 my sweet tooth is outa control I was pretty much like this before pregnancy, now baby is here my sugar cravings are back

Yes yes yes!! I thought it was just me!! I’m not BF but I did have GD when pregnant!! All I want to eat is sugar!!! I was going to mention it at my 8 week check to make sure it isn’t linked to me just stopping my GD medication straight after birth xx

Me too I love it

You’re not alone… I’m 2 weeks post partum and I have an awful appetite and when I do eat I’m like you, chocolate crisps or whatever is quick and easy! It’s annoying but same time I’m like atleast I’m eating 🙈😂

I was like this as well (currently 4 weeks 2 days PP). My baby started to become colicky around 2 weeks and also developed a rash on his face about a week ago. I was advised to cut out diary as it’s potentially CMPA. I’ve been diary free for 3 days and rash is clearing quickly, his trapped wind is also noticeably better, he’s settling a lot easier and also sleeping much better at night. I recently heard that chocolate can increase likelihood of colic but not sure about the science behind it 🤷🏼‍♀️ if baby seems happy then I’d keep enjoying the sugar, but everything we eat while breastfeeding can definitely have an impact on baby, some babies will be more sensitive to it than others! I was eating chocolate bars when I got up to nurse during the night 🙈 if I had of known it could increase the risk of colic I would have been more cautious!

Yep! I’m eating a lot of dates, dried apricots and mango etc so that I get the fibre alongside the sugar hit (along with the pack of chocolate biscuits I am inhaling every other day 🤣)

I couldn’t eat a proper meal for 2 weeks. Only snacks and treats. I found it bizarre and google kept telling me I was depressed, even though I didn’t think I was…. Its helped me lose weight at least but my appetite has returned now at 18 days post partum x
