Same happened to me with my first child, it took mine about 4 months to heal properly. The only thing that helped me was cleaning daily more than once (showering) and laying with air to the wound. Spritz for bits I found soothing not sure if it helped with the healing !
@Fiona i just booked an appointment will see the GP tomorrow again, cause the wound is bleeding today 😞 i will ask her about that as well thank you 💗
I’m sorry, that sounds sore, hope the GP was able to help. I had an episiotomy with my first and remember it being sore but if it helps, a year or so later I didn’t even know it was there. Hope it feels better soon xx
You need to ask to be referred to a consultant gynaecologist rather than GP as GP’s don’t have expertise to deal with this. If they try giving you an appointment in months time then go to A&E or day assessment unit at your hospital. Hope it gets better for you.
I did go to GP, this time she told me that there are some granulation tissues forming inside the wound which is a good sign. She advised not to use any creams just leave it as dry as possible. She also wants to see me in three weeks if there was no progress she will refer me to a perineal clinic. 🥲
Sorry, that sounds really painful. Hopefully someone else can help but I had a c section and was prescribed fucidic acid/fucidin to help with redness on the incision, which is an anti bacterial cream. Might be worth asking your GP/pharmacist about? Hope you’re able to get something to help and it feels better soon.
