@Kay-louise How do you keep your supply up? I struggle to make a meal during the day so I’m worried that my supply is gonna decrease because I’m not eating enough. What’s your pump schedule like? X
I’m trying to pump 9/12/3/6/9/12/3/6 and each night on my 9 o’clock one I’m ‘power pumping’ 20mins pump, 10ml a break, 10 min pump, 10 min break but I can’t seem to get more than 60 out of 1 boob and 90 out of the other x
I have always had an over supply but I pump every 2 hours up until 8/9 weeks post baby. And then increase to 3/4 hourly. I power pump at my last pump before bed and my first pump of the morning and my schedule is 4/6/8/10/12/2. I make sure I have lots of snacks near by that have supply increasing ingredients like oats I also have one cup of mamas milk tea xx
@Kay-louise sorry for all the questions.. every 2 hours through the night too? So, all day and all night? How long do you pump for each time? What kinda snacks do you have? X
Yes so even if baby doesn’t wake up I wake up and pump I have alarms set for 2 hourly. Anything with lots of protein, oats, breakfast bars, high calorie, fruit, protein shakes xx
I pump for a minimum of 20 mins if I do a short pump due to going out then i make up the time in my next pump by doing 30/ 40 mins x
I’m not exclusively pumping, but I do pump to bottle feed sometimes. When she does have the bottle she has around 4/5oz but she does normally snack on it, 1oz at a time within an hour or so. In order to keep your supply up just keep eating and drinking. With my last baby I struggled getting 1oz and I wasn’t eating or drinking. I take a snack box with me to bed with all little bits and bobs to snack on during the night. Hot chocolates/chocolate milk seem to help me too!
I have exclusive my pumped for 2 out of 4 babies and have started pumping for my final baby. He’s 8 days old and is having between 90-120ml per feed I always offer 120 before bed and he takes the whole lot. I make up every bottle to 120 and whatever he doesn’t drink I put into a milk bath bag xx
