@Kirsten I was only pumping once a day in the mornings when I was still engorged after he ate but I skipped a few days and I think my supply started decreasing cuz now I don’t even get half as much and he’s cranky and hungry more frequently. I ended up offering a bottle and he ktfo so I’m worried he’s not getting enough from my breast
If you were pumping during initial engorgement, you likely created an oversupply. What you pump, doesn't relate to your supply. Baby is more efficient. Baby will cluster periodically, this is normal. Especially in the evenings. Trust that baby knows what they're doing when it comes to wanting to be fed. Pop the pump down. So long as baby is having enough wet nappies through the day, you'll be supplying plenty.
@Kirsten thank you! I’m overly paranoid I suppose
Honestly, I feel it. I wasn't educated with my first and stopped at 4 months when they get the 4 month fussies. I knew better with my second and pushed through. You've got this mumma.
i'd say go with the left side since it's producing more, but honestly, just follow your baby's cues too, they usually know what they want! here's what the 'Heal Baby Care App' says.... "In your situation, it's generally best to offer the side that produced less milk during pumping first, which in this case is the right side. This approach can help stimulate that breast to produce more milk during the next feeding. Since your baby is cluster feeding, they may help increase your supply over time. How often are you currently pumping after feeds?" i'd say go with the left side since it's producing more, but honestly, just follow your baby's cues too, they usually know what they want!
You're better off putting the pump down and just letting baby feed. Let baby have a good feed off one side, then change for the next feed.
