What are we doing if newborn bottles don’t line up with bedtime?

What are we doing if babies last bottle before bed doesn’t line up with the time they go down to bed for the night? My daughter now does a longer first stretch usually and I’m just wondering are we doing a top up feed before bed if the last bottle isn’t around bedtime or are we just waiting and seeing when they want another feed?

Newborns feed on demand. How old is your little one to have a bedtime / set routine ?

We don't have a bedtime routine yet, we're either feeding on demand or waking him up if he sleeps over the 4 hour mark

I feed my 5 weeks old on demand, and don't wake him up anymore during the night.

No such thing as bedtime for us at the moment. We're feeding on demand and baby comes to bed when we do. Otherwise she sleeps in a moses basket downstairs. We found our eldest set her own routine after a few months so we're just going with the flow for now.

We just bring the baby to bed when we go, no routine as newborns don't really get into one for a few months

I’ve also wondered this! It’s so difficult to get the timings to line up some days. Our little boy is 8 weeks old and he goes to bed at 7.30 ish. We always give him a full feed of 5oz before bed. So he’ll either have a smaller feed the one before or we’ll try and stretch it out if it’s really close to bedtime or bring the bedtime feed slightly forward. He also sleeps long stretches at night time, we don’t wake him just let him tell us when he’s hungry through the night, which is usually once.

We make bedtime after the last bottle of the day sort of thing so it varies a bit atm x

We have a flexible routine, my daughter’s last bottle tends to be between 930-1030, and just before last bottle I will do her evening routine. Bath+Story, this however isn’t a set time, and I just make it flexible to her on the day, she is 10 weeks on Friday and seems to be slowly getting herself into a routine with sleep times etc. I don’t wake her at night, she wakes herself if she’s hungry. She could sleep anytime from 1030-11 until normally 5am, however sometimes earlier.

We have a rough timeframe but no set bedtime. Last bottle before we go to bed could be anywhere between 9:30and11:30 depending on how he's fed through the day

We currently have 0 routine and we are just winging it currently 😂😅

I typically try and line bottles up for the day. He’s usually 4 hours between feeds but will take if I offer early or later (only if he’s sleeping and settled). So I pretty much time my bottles in to make sure we’re not staying up too late. It normally falls from 8:30-10:30 and with the lack of sleep (teaching toddler too), I’m happy going to bed early 😂 obviously if baby is hungry before the times I would prefer then I give, I wouldn’t let him go hungry just to have a set bedtime x

@Jenny she is 8 weeks and doesn’t have a solid routine but she usually is ready for sleep between 8 & 9 but sometimes her last feed can be an hour + before that time as she usually goes 3 hours between each feed

My baby is 8 weeks old and for the last 2 weeks has got herself into a little routine at bedtime - she’ll have her last bottle between 9-11 and then sleep till 3-5 - trying to get your baby into a routine is a myth and bottles not matching up with bedtime is strange to me because as some have said baby’s feed on demand - you need to be flexible with this especially in the early stages and go off what baby needs
