@Jamie this is her second proper day but only did just over 2 hours 😞 hoping she can do half a day and then work way up to a full day. I think what doesn’t help is that she is BF and usually feeds to sleep so only wants that xx
Are you back at work? I try cutting it down back to an hour or even half an hour if you can. I know this might seem backwards but it would be a shorter period of upset. Could you ask if you could stay with her for a little while? Eg 10 mins and then leave, then you would be back in 50 mins. I used to be an early years teacher and I’m a transition support worker now x
I’m sorry you’re both going through this it’s so tough😭 we’ve had a very up and down time with settling in sessions but her first full day went really well on Tuesday! I found that being there early meant she was happy and settled having breakfast with them and then she got her nap as soon as she was tired. she had another nap later on in the day as well. Whereas she went in quite tired to the last settling in session and was screaming on and off for 2 hours and wouldn’t eat either🥺 You could try staying with her for a bit but if you’re back at work soon then you don’t want to slow down the process of settling any more, I think it’s just a case of making sure she’s not tired and maybe giving her a teddy or comforter with your scent on, this helped my girl fall asleep in the new setting. I hope it gets better for you, it’s the hardest part of this journey so far💔
I'm so sorry. I am terrified of this when my little one starts. How long has she been going?
