Nursery funding

My little girl is starting nursery 1 September. She will be 13 months old. When do I apply for the 15/30 hours code? I’m British but hubby is here on spousal visa (South African). Would she be entitled to the 30 hours? My husband and I are both working. Anyone in the know please please comment. It’s all so confusing!

The hours are for working parents from 9 months so will depend on circumstances.

@Natalie we are both working. Updated my post to include this

You apply within 31 days of starting

By the end of August, but aim for July in case there’s delays 🤞🏻

If you earn at least £195 (before tax) a week employed or self-employed you will be entitled to 15/30 hours. The 15 free hours for 9 month olds and up, came into force last September. It helped me tremendously. My baby only goes 2 days a week and I would be paying £580 a month but with the 15 hours free I only pay £260 a month. Can’t wait for September to come to be entitled to 30 hours free child care. https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/15-and-30-hours-childcare-support/working-families

@Applelonia thank you so much! I did hear something about the hours increasing to 30 from September. Fab news!
