Were about the same as Sydney. Our triplets just turned 1 last week. We got them used to straw cups over the last few months and only put milk in those, not bottles, and offer it with meals. At first they barely touch it, now they have started to take a bit more interest. But we're not that worried. It's not meant to replace bm/formula. Food is doing that. Whole milk is just some added calories for them :)
I’ve read that it isn’t an overnight switch and to just make sure they’re fully transitioned by 18 months. We still have our little one on Formula because we haven’t gotten up to three meals a day, but she does have 2 really good meals a day so we’ll probably switch soon!
Thanks! This is super helpful and reassuring. My baby is an eater and definitely gets in her 3 meals so at least we have that. I will continue to try to get her to drink her milky!
As long as my kids eat enough of a varied diet, I have never gone out of my way to push milk on them. There are days they want a ton, and days they don't want any.
That's helpful! Thanks Laura, it makes sense! I guess for her first year of life it was milk milk milk, so while my baby is adjusting, so am I!
For me I just kept trying and went full cold turkey. I was also adviced to give yogurt if he doesn’t like milk over time he gradually started to like it that’s what worked for my son I hope it helps :)
For me I added some of her formula powder in the whole milk n it worked. She drank that for 2 days, and now she's doing the whole milk on its own. Good luck mamma🙏🏽
Not much experience since my son just turn one on the 16th, but be patient. I only offer with meals, and it was until the past couple of days he started loving it. No joke, I poured 7oz for breakfast (thinking he’d have a sip or two and the rest for dinner), he ended up chugging 3 oz as soon as I gave it to him and finished all but 2oz by the end of breakfast
