@Cam yeah they normally do a c section if the baby is breach…that’s not what she’s saying.
Honestly, go for natural if you can! Why have major surgery if you can avoid it? X x
They will turn baby around if she is breech. It depends on you.
If baby is now head down I’d definitely try and let labour happen naturally, and take it from there. From someone who really wanted a natural birth, to end up in a section - I’m pro vaginal birth x
If there is any risk for the baby or for you, take the C-Section.. but if vaginal birth is an option (If I were you, I would take it), our body is designed to birth our baby. I went through the whole laboring process and ultimately ended up having an emergency C-Section. The recovery is tough and to me it was really heartbreaking not being able to lift my baby up from the bassinet or even lift him up to place him on the changing table for a diaper change, just doing certain efforts for several days/ weeks 💔 ..ohh and trying to be present but feeling drowsy or like disconnected for days (the anesthesia).. i was awake but i didn’t feel like myself, super weird! I would say that for the C-Section the tough part is not the delivery, but everything that comes after. Obviously, if I was in the same spot I was with my baby, I would take the C-Section again with no hesitation, I’m thankful that option exists obviously! But vaginal delivery would be my first option.
@Victoria perfectly said, I agree!
I was waiting my whole pregnancy for my baby to be head down! I tried everything. Go for it if you can! 🤞🏼
I’ve had both and I would definitely do the vaginal again. I’d try for that and see how it goes. You wouldn’t have to deal with major surgery or the healing and recovery with a baby
This happened to me but the opposite. We were head down the entire pregnancy, had a scan after 38 weeks to confirm head down as planned a home birth and he must have flipped at some point after thay scan and they didn't realise until I was pretty much fully dilated so ended up with a very traumatic emergency section. Do what feels right for you. But I never want another section
If you want to try natural and they're heads down do it. You can alwahs have a c section when in labour. It's just usually classed as an emergency whether it is one or not. And they're super calm. Mine was a cat 2 and it was super duper calm
Happened to me. I went for an induction instead and he flipped again during labour. Ended in a c-section after 26 hours of labour. 😂🫠
I would try the vaginal. I've had both a c-section and vaginal and recovery is much easier from the vaginal delivery. And unless there's an underlying issue (medical reason, breech, etc) vaginal is the recommended way to go due to less risks for mother and baby.
How exciting that baby has flipped! I know this is changing what you initially thought, but I would go for a vaginal if safe :) I had a c section 3.5 months ago and if it is safe to do vaginal births in the future, I would not choose another c section for the life of me. Avoid the surgery if you are able and good luck!
I’ve birthed both ways and would choose vaginal every single time. My second baby was breech and I did everything to try and flip her, but no dice. C sections are an important and life saving option, but it was a brutal experience. I hated how dependent I had to be on my husband and family during the early days of recovery, having to take painkillers constantly just to be vaguely comfortable, and the long term changes are nothing to sneeze at either. The scar doesn’t bother me (mine was done very tidily), but a year later I still have numbness and my scar twinges when I over exert my core. Not to mention, if you want to have more children, a section increases your risk of uterine rupture and could limit how many pregnancies you can safely carry to term. It’s your call at the end of the day, but I would take the blessing and go for vaginal.
After hoping for natural and landing on c section after 36 hrs of labor….4 hours at 8cm…..I would take the c section 😂 but to each their own.
