I’ve already discussed, but it’s my second pregnancy and I had a difficult birth resulting in a c section so I had already decided I’m having a planned c section. I am also under prem prevention and they said we will discuss at my appointment on Monday rather than at my Obstetrics call. But I was due to have an OB call early June. I don’t think in most standard low risk pregnancies they discuss until later in the pregnancy over 30 weeks. But if you know that you want a planned c section you can mention it to them. If you want a natural birth then they get you to fill out a birth plan later on and bring it to them to discuss.
Pretty sure with my first I didn't discuss until much later, like 32 weeks, but was low risk so no need for a planned C-Section hence not discussing earlier. Ask at your next appointment 😊
Because I had an emergency section with my first, it was discussed at my first appointment. I said I didn’t know what I wanted to do yet so my midwife referred me to a session on VBAC to help make up my mind and then discuss with her after that - I’ll be 28 weeks then
I’m consultant led due to being high risk and after speaking to them (I was originally wanting a natural birth this time) we settled on elective as it was the safer option for me this time.
It was discussed at my booking appointment due to my first being a section, following complications at the first they explained it would be the safest and best option to have another, what I wanted anyway but I think you can talk about it whenever you want to x
If you are going for elective, you will need to ask sooner rather than later if this is your first pregnancy. You will need to have extra appointments where they will go through the risks. Be prepared with your research!
I mentioned it on most midwife appointment, had 20week scan and saw consultant on the same day, signed the docs for an elective section that day
They asked me already at the first midwife appointment around 12 weeks I think, but they said in detail they would discuss at the 25 weeks appointment / you discuss it at the birthing clinic you chose, if you aren’t giving birth at the same place where you do all the scans
