In sept-jan you will apply for schools, yes reception class ,so no reason you couldn’t start looking at what’s around now, especially if you don’t have one in mind. Your nursery should inform you when you need to apply
Schools usually do their tours in October, so have a look at your schools that are in your catchment area and keep an eye on when their dates are coming out.
