Baby hates being on her back for too long

Unless she’s sleeping, my 9 week old has a very limited tolerance to being in her back, which is making baby activities very difficult! She loves her bouncer/high chair, and will happily sit in those for ages with nothing specifically to keep her interest (I can even leave the room and she doesn’t care), but I can’t put her on her back when she’s awake, even if I’m right there staring back at her or I’ve got toys or shiny things, etc Assuming she’ll grow out of this, but wondering if anyone can give me insight as to when or ideas about what to do to help her? Can’t exactly bring a bouncer to baby classes (maybe I can!? 😬)

My son was exactly the same and he learned to roll, sit up and stuff really soon just so he wasn’t laying down. Even just changing his nappy would make him scream at the beginning when you lay them down🤦🏽‍♀️. I just had to push through it but I propped him up a lot of the time. At baby classes they usually have something you can prop them up with or sit them upright in between your legs or on your lap! My son is almost 2 and still doesn’t tolerate being on his back well

Let’s just hope she learns to sit up soon then 😂

This is literally my baby at the moment, he absolutely hates being on his back unless it’s bed time, which he’s great at and is an amazing sleeper, but other than that he 99% of the time will scream his head off if he’s put on his back😭. I am also hoping he grows out of this as he is almost 3 months. Personally I just try prop him up as much as possible, which can be hard when they can’t hold their head up, but he much prefers to be sitting up so I try prop him up as much as a can, but to be honest I do have to hold him a lot which can make it very hard to do anything!

@chantelle yes, I think this is going to be my life until she can sit up 😂 thankfully she also has no problem sleeping!
