Weaning off night feeds

My 10 month old still wakes up at least twice for a night feed (usually 10pm and 3pm). I have tried reducing the amounts but he screams and screams for more… I wouldn’t have any idea how to get him back off to sleep without a bottle 😭 any tips? I am worried now I’ve read he should really stop bottles at 12 months ish and I feel like that’s a mile off at the moment 😭

Do you have a partner? It may be worth them trying to settle him firstly so he can’t smell milk but I know how it is so if that doesn’t work you could try offering water in a cup or bottle, try rocking, singing to him, introducing a comforter for naps first and then night sleep. Put him back down as soon as he’s settled - it may take a good few goes and definitely won’t be an overnight process but you have to be persistent x

No tips as such but we also thought we were a million miles off reducing night feeds (she was having two until three weeks ago), then she dropped to 1 feed and the past week she’s started sleeping through. We did nothing different but it all changed within the space of three weeks for us and I was also the person saying it felt like months and months away!

We were in the same position at one point but we worked out her 1am feed had become a habit, rather than a need. She would hardly take any of the bottle. We persevered with rocking for a few (very tired) nights, but since then she's slept consistently from at least 8pm-5.30am. She occasionally still feeds at 5.30am but I only offer her a bottle if I know she's still tired, as it helps her go back to sleep x

Do you use a dummy? Sometimes they just need a soother
