I would go to an urgent care and get a prescription for the nausea, you could also be dehydrated, try pedialyte or sucking on ice cubes, really cold ice water with lemon and get some crackers
@Corine this! I went to urgent care yesterday and they ended up sending me to the hospital. I had dehydration, acid reflux, and a UTI caused by the dehydration! They sent me home with nausea meds and ive been able to eat finally!
Hey Felicia, Iām so sorry youāre feeling so awful. Right there with you. I tried vitamin b6 for nausea and it messed me up even worse, so I get pausing things to get back to base level crappy feeling lol. I donāt have answers that will truly help as right now I am super dehydrated and struggling to drink any liquids bc they make me queasy. Is there anything at all you can tolerate? Right now a few pretzels are all I can do when itās really bad. Just to get your energy up a bit. Or any fruit? I would stay away from any and all foods with smells as that will trigger you into a gaggy spiral (happened to me yesterday after I tried eating a simple sandwich) I have found electrolytes to be super helpful. Gatorade is a quick fix, I dilute it with water so thereās no sugar rush. But I love LMNT because I get the unflavored one and put it in my beverage of choice for that day. It helps with energy when Iām not eating/drinking appropriately.
I ate like crap, couldnāt eat much, felt nausea and headaches often but that slowly went away as I started the second trimester. It started a few weeks early for me. There were a lot of things I still added in the first trimester that started helping. I take a whole bunch of meds with prenatals and others supplements and wouldnāt recommend getting off them if you were on them before. I would recommend drinking a lot of water with electrolyte packs. I had a hard time finding some without a lot of sugar but with all the nausea, sugar helped things go down easier and that was better than eating or drinking nothing. I had a lot of ritz crackers throughout the day and night when I got nauseas and had a ton of different anti nausea candies I would have frequently. Anything from ginger chews to things like pregnancy pop drops and ones from the pink stork. I also started taking magnesium supplements from the pink stork that also helps with nausea and hydration. Plus B12 for sleep.
Girl! You NEED to go to the ER if it's been persistent like this. That was how my first pregnancy was and I ended up passed out in the bathroom with barely a heartbeat. Luckily my husbands ex wife came to my house cause I wasn't picking up my phone (it was SS baseball game that day) and she rushed me to hospital where I got IV and fluids and was put on some strong nausea meds that knocked my nausea right out of the park. DO NOT let yourself get so dehydrated and malnourished. I lost 35 lbs in first pregnancy. Doctors told me my body was starting to eat itself from inside to try to supply nutrients for baby.
@Corine I drink water consistently all day everyday if I donāt do anything else . I might have to go to urgent care cause this is miserable :( my mom also makes me some cheese toast when Iām super miserable .. she has offered but I just got her to reheat some of my dinner from last night . Iāve been nibbling on it but Iāve been eating it for about an hour :(
@Tiffanie the cheese toast helps but itās not a lot . I ate an omelette this morning , after the first bite I literally threw up , felt a little better enough to eat the rest of the omelette, super slow , took like an hour and a half and still couldnāt finish all of it :( Iām eating my shrimp , rice and broccoli now from dinner last night and I slowly feel better but still feel like my headache coming back on :(
@Tiffanie also when I feel like that I usually do a small bottle of Gatorade but itās also what comes back up when I throw up
@Brianna Iām going to try to give it a few more hours to see if itāll subside with the food but Iām defiantly going to make a visit if Iām not feeling any better . I just needed opinions on it before I act like a hypochondriac
At urgent care now you guys :( hoping I get some relief
@Felicia hope you get some relief
They prescribed me a low dose of medication and so far so good , i will see how I feel tomorrow but im hoping good things ! Thank yall so much for all your comments and concern . Itās great to have a community to go through these things with šš
What helped me and continues to help now was getting a an IV. Not sure where youāre located but I would look up hydration IV/ wellness center. It helped so much. I would speak with your doctor again. Iām currently on 3 different nausea pills just so I can eat and function. So youāre not alone. Just know you really arenāt. I remember feeling this way with my first and I really didnāt think I could get through it. Caused me so much anxiety. But it will get better and you will get over this hump. First trimester is a BIATCH!!! ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
My doctor told me to get the over the counter meds called Unisom sleeping aids at 5 weeks. I couldnāt get out of bed it was soooo bad. I was scared to sleep cause of how bad the mornings are . These are sleeping aids very small pills 25mg so start the routine for before bed. It works fast . I was unsure at first but Iāve been on a trip and back to doing things around the house && Iām now 12 weeks. If you stop , you will get sick again just fyi . I missed a day && went through hLL lol . But itās just until first trimester is over . Of course consult with doc. first . Iāve been taking it 7weeks && I had an ultrasound on Wednesday that showed strong healthy baby with great heartbeat .

I would still take your prenatal, even if you are eating pretty minimal just because that will help you get your nutrients throughout the day but maybe find one thatās pretty easy on your stomach
