I don't think it's teething pain. She cries inconsolable with her eyes still closed and seems to drift back off when cuddled.
It wouldn’t be night terrors as baby is far too young. It’s more than likely pain but they’re so tired they’re not waking… or they are overtired and waking every sleep cycle crying which is common with over-tiredness. Have naps changed?
My first daughter used to do this quite a lot, I eventually figured out that it happened when she was over tired and hadn’t napped enough. My second doesn’t seem to do it but not sure if it’s because she’s better at napping or just a different child
As @Edel said it won't be night terrors and she's too young to experience those. It does sound like a late regression. Could be a little bit of teething or separation anxiety on there too
I would suspect separation anxiety rather than night terrors ?
Thanks everyone. @Edel her naps haven't changed. She gets between 2-2.5 per day of naps. Up between 6:30-6:45am. Will take first nap at 9:30-10am for 1.5hrs. She'll then nap again 2-2:30pm for 30min-1hr. She'll then go to bed for 6:45-7:15pm
Are you sure it’s not her teeth? they cry in their sleep when they are in pain from teething. My daughter is 9 1/2 months and got 2 teeth this week. She doesn’t sleep comfortable and is in the same boat but when I give her Tylenol she sleeps longer stretches but wakes when it wears off.
