My hair is falling out

I have a 4 month old baby and have been breastfeeding since birth. My hair is really falling out and in terrible condition. I spoke to the HV and she said it's normal with breastfeeding. I'm taking pregnacare breastfeeding supplements. Does anyone have the same issue and if so, what products are you using to keep your hair in good condition?

I’m not breastfeeding anymore and it’s still happening for me. Lasted around 12 weeks after my first and now it’s around 10 weeks. It’s slowing down now. There isn’t a great deal you can do, it’ll settle down though x

I lost lots of hair with my first baby, just starting to again with baby 2 (he’s 4 months too). It lasted about 2 months last time, it’s just your hormones have leveled out again so no more glow. There’s nothing you can really do as it’s just the hair you didn’t shed when pregnant (you don’t shed much so you have fuller looking hair when pregnant). Just keep taking your vitamins and don’t do harsh harsh styles.

I’m also breastfeeding, and taking the same supplements as you. Omg when my baby turned 4months my hair started falling SO bad. It was the worst condition ever I was so upset about it. It’s getting better now and baby is almost 6months. Still falling but not anything as bad. The only thing I did different was I started taking iron and vitamin d supplements as well as the breastfeeding ones even though there’s iron and vit d in that too. I asked my dr if it’s fine and they said it’s fine. I wonder if that has helped? Dont worry though, it’s normal but so frustrating x

I don't think it's a breastfeeding thing. It just happens when you're about 4/5 months postpartum to most mothers.

I think it’s normal even if you don’t breast feed as I had the same with my first I was just told to take multivitamins but I don’t think there’s much you can do to stop it 😅 just embrace the spiked hair when it grows back 😅

I was 3.5 months pp when mine started and lasted about 8-10 weeks x

Has nothing to do with breastfeeding, it happens postpartum and it’d because you lose the hair you didn’t lose while pregnant.

Thank you all. That's put my mind at ease. I'll just embrace the frizz for now and get a pet hair vacuum. 😄

All post partum women lose their hair

It goes back to normal again. Don’t worry.

Jumping on here, with a different question to you..I take the pregnacare breastfeeding mum vitamins but they make me nauseous... do we have to take the 3 of them at the same time? X

I've been using nioxin deep conditioning treatment and my hair has been so much better and feels nice x
